Apollo 04:28
hanging up's always the hardest part if you gave me the choice i'd never hit the receiver stay up late to get an early start those tired eyes, a classic disguise that i've worn too many times uh oh apollo, who gave you a crossbow and taught you to use it? just please don't abuse it just give me a reason to wake up each morning and i will, i will tell me your secrets, i swear i can keep them and i will, i will sometimes silence is the loudest sound the lack of a message is the same as a message contradicting what you thought you found a warning sign of the burning kind that leaves me flushed in the face but i don't want you to feel like you have to hang on to something you don't think's worth holding on to but what is worth? just give me a reason to wake up each morning and i will, i will tell me your secrets, i swear i can keep them and i will, i will

it’s a quiet night on the town and i’m thinking out loud what keeps me up’s got me down as i try to map it all out weighing plans with my doubt placing pins, tracing routes are you listening? navigating between false and true north i’ll take the rhumb to the fork and i’ll gamble my course anticipation of washing ashore i’ve got my vest in the drawer i’ve got my best out the door are you listening? there’s blood in the water, the sharks keep on swimming my clothes are all heavy and i keep on sinking if the sharks eat the fishes then who eats the sharks? i’m a part of the cycle just playing my part when will i surface? when will i sink? sometimes i just feel like a rock in the sea but erosion’s been friendly to rough rocks like me i am listening terrified of tipping the scales so i’m biting my nails obsessing over details now the balance and the beams have burnt down so we’ll rebuild this town standing on solid ground are you listening?

i watched you suffer i watched you quarantine the plague my northern brother when you caught fire, you burned away and then just like a phoenix when you emerged you dusted off your wings i wish i could've seen it i wish there was a word for the feeling when you recognize the streets and signs that tell you you are home i am home 'cause i've been driving with the feeling that i've lost my way with nowhere to rest and though i might have said i fixed my brain i think my heart's still a mess flashback, flash forward how come i'm never in the now? my norther brother could you come back and show me how? i try my best to be honest 'cause when i lie i am laid back on the ground i try my best to stay modest but it's hard when i'm just so goddamn proud i am proud and it's a problem 'cause i'll beat, beat, beat, beat, beat my chest until my knuckles blush but if my heart beats back with equal strength i think i'll listen up i believe in thanking strangers and celebrating small remainders a birthday cake with a wax-lit timer i'm sure i can be a little bit kinder i believe in astrophysics and the planets that i cannot visit but i hope to one day see them on tv or real in person i believe in forward progress and the love of a simple promise 'cause if we trust the ones that trust us it will take less time to adjust i believe in feminism a contrast to the world we live in we're a part of a big equation an equals sign and an obligation i believe it's all right if i don't have sex that often i believe it's all right if i don't fall asleep 'til morning i believe it's all right if i like to think a little i believe it's all right if i like to drink a little/a lot i believe it's all right to be alone i believe it's all right to want to go home i believe it's all right to be unknown i believe it's all right to just let go
